FCU's Board of Trustees was established on Feb. 27th, 1961 and was reformed on Aug. 20th, 1962. The first Chairperson was Mr. Yu-Shan Xiao and after Jan. 2nd, 1963, it was Mr. Xin Gao. After Mr. Gao's resignation on Aug. 16th, 1988, Mr. Ying-Ming Liao was assigned as the Chairperson. In order to honor Mr. Gao's 25-year outstanding contribution to FCU, the Board of Trustees recommended him as Honorary Chairperson. After Mr. Liao's resignation in Oct. 1993, the Board of Trustees assigned Mr. Yi-Wu Ho as Chairperson, Mr. Cheng-Shu Gao as Vice-Chairperson, and Mr. Xi-Zhe Zhang, and Mr. Ying-Ming Liao as Vice Honorary Chairperson. On Dec. 29, 2001, Chairperson Ho passed away, and the Board of Trustees assigned Mr. Zhong-Ming Zhang as Chairperson.
The Board of Trustees of Feng-Chia University consists of 11 directors, with the authority to exercise the following duties:
1. To appoint and dismiss directors.
2. To appoint and dismiss the President.
3. To examine the reports about the affairs of the university.
4. To plan fundraising.
5. To verify budget and final accounts.
6. To manage the funds.
7. To supervise the finances.
8. To register the organization and changes within the organization.
9. To examine and revise organizational regulations of the Board of Trustees and of the university.
10. To exercise all relevant duties according to the applying regulations of the Private University Law. |
