Date of Issue: July 21, 2016

On July 20, FCU and the Hua-chuang Automobile Information Technical Center (HAITEC) held a ceremony to announce the formation of a state-of-the-art R&D project.

HAITEC—a subsidiary of Yulon, a Taiwanese automotive company and maker of Luxgen automobiles—and FCU’s College of Information and Electrical Engineering will research and develop an automatic driver assistance system.

At the ceremony, FCU President Lee Bing-Jean noted that driverless vehicle projects are the focus of many large corporations. Universities such as FCU, he added, are a prime source of innovative technologies.

To ensure technological innovation, FCU encourages an education system that stresses conceiving, designing, implementing, and operating systems and products. This model offers a comprehensive educational foundation for FCU’s engineering students by providing the opportunity to work on real projects with real companies to create real design solutions for real-life problems.
