On March 16, the Times Higher Education magazine released its 2017 ranking of the top universities in Asia. Launched in 2013, the survey provides an overview of the top 200 universities in Asia.
The ranking of university performance is measured using 13 indicators in five main categories—teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and industry income.
In 13 of the survey’s 16 fields, FCU ranked the highest of all private comprehensive universities. FCU finished first—for the second year in a row—in “Geology, Environment, Earth and Marine Science,” “Mathematics and Statistics,” “Civil Engineering,” “Economics and Econometrics,” and “Architecture.” FCU finished as the top private comprehensive university for the first time in a number of other fields, including “Computer Science,” “Business and Management,” “History, Philosophy and Theory,” “Art, Performing Arts and Design,” “Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering,” “Accounting and Finance,” “Communication and Media Research,” and “Electronics and Electrical.”
International recognition from the Times Higher Education survey demonstrates the elite performance of FCU’s teachers and students, as well as shows the university’s potential for improvement in a diverse variety of fields.
