Two courses were awarded as 2017 Outstanding MOOCs by Ministry of Education. The award ceremony was held on January 15th. The two courses are Making Money by Goodwill, toward Innovation and Learning General Physics Experiments by Doing.

The course Making Money by Goodwill, toward Innovation is the collaboration of Professor Shiu-Kuan Chiu and Professor Kuang-Wen Wu of Department of Business. It aims to inspire and train students to pursue professionalism based on the notion of goodwill via the case study of some enterprises. Representatives from six companies including Leezen Company, Sinyi Real Estate, Atunas Company, Pacific Cycles, O’right Company, and Lavender Cottage were invited to share their experiences in this regard. MOE proclaimed that this course, practical in content, diverse in assignments, and with bilingual video subtitles, contributes to the excellent performance.

The course Learning General Physics Experiments by Doing was designed and given collaboratively by Professor Y. T. Lee and Professor Dao-Zheng Lu of Department of Photonics and Professor Yao-Chen Hung of Physics Teaching and Research Center. In this course, three elements—experiments at school, corresponding experiments at home, and exhibition experiments in the museum—were combined, by which the gap among them can be bridged accordingly. MOE proclaimed that this course, well organized and nicely videotaped, leads to the continuous learning of students. The digital teaching materials of this course have been used in Ching Cheng High School since 2015 to promote the general physics education via MOOCs.

Feng Chia University has been dedicated to the development of digital teaching materials in an innovative manner. In terms of MOOCs, 16 courses have been given and more than 10,000 students have taken them since 2014 school semester. It is expected that students cultivate their soft power by autonomous learning via the courses in Generation Education and training in industries.
