FCU students were the biggest winners in Robot Design Competition
Share To:
FCU students from School of Architecture won six awards out of all 13 awards in SPLINE Cloud 3D Design Competition jointly held by Central Taiwan Science Park and Winson Machinery Casting Co., Ltd. in the fall of 2018. The awards that students won include 1 Silver Award and 5 Outstanding Awards. They are the biggest winners in the competition.
The theme of the competition is Cloud which expects that the design of robots can be applied to industrial design, architecture design, interior design, furniture design and stylish life. That is, the skills for manufacturing robots can be expanded to things in our everyday life so that consumers are not only able to use robots but also enjoy the beauty of robots.
The work Cloud Pavilion, designed by student Liao Shi-hao, is based on the imagination of changes in clouds, combining various shapes of clouds into a pavilion. Liao explained that the pavilion is eco-friendly, with its top plate to collect rain and mediate the temperature. This work is overwhelmingly praised by judges and won Silver Award.
The other students in the team from School of Architecture also won other 5 Outstanding Awards. It is expected that students can make the best of CAD and CAM skills they have learned and try to collaborate with industries for further development.
