The team Shining Hand beat all the other 130 teams from the island and won the gold medal with the work Controlling System of Wearable Robots. Talking about the award-winning work, three students in the team said that they got the idea from science fiction Real Steel in which robots moved like human beings and they were the creation of Industry 4.0. Wearable Robots are expected to be used to trace patients’ movements in medical rehabilitation, to analyze the posture and movement of athletics in sports, and to control movements of characters in animation design.
The team was guided by Prof. Hsing-Cheng Chang and Prof. Yu-Liang Hsu from Department of Automatic Control. Students said they hope to cooperate with industries and to develop other smart robots or machines in a collaborative manner in the future.
